33 34 going on 40, but 40 is the new 30 … which might explain why I’m in a bit of an existential crisis right now. Not sure which way is up, but am finding life pretty amusing lately. Well, amusing if life was played in third person, but the version I have is stuck in first person mode. (And it sucks not having any of the cheat codes). Plus, I’m running an OS pirated in Brazil way back in the 70s, so I’m finding some bugs in the system. All right, this metaphor is quickly becoming tiresome, so I’ll leave it at that for now.

After rereading this, I decided additional disclosure was necessary, caveat emptor and all that: I embrace my inner and outer geek fully. Yes, I played D&D as a kid and I may have played it as an adult, but I will neither confirm nor deny those rumors. Likewise with LARPing. I like the gadgets but think they’re too expensive so I tend not to buy any. I think I’m an American most of the time but have been too lazy to apply for citizenship. (Plus, I’m secretly scared of the INS.) I have eTourette’s and I may have a slight case of actual Tourettes. (Is Tourette’s something that you can have in gradation?) eTourette’s mainly manifests itself via electronic communications when I think I’m being funny and ironic and satirical but the idiots on the other end of the communication don’t see it that way. The slight case of actual Tourette’s is most evident by my apparent inability to see the line. As in … “Dude, that totally crossed the line.” I’m not religious, but kinda wish I was because it seems to make people happier (or so said Csikszentmihalyi). I like data and facts and research but find that it takes a lot of time and work and most of the time if people just listened to me we’d be better off and farther along.
